Policies & Terms

General Policy

  • We accept all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
  • A credit card is required to be put on file when the reservation is made. No charges will be made to the card on file until check out, except as otherwise noted.
  • Our home is of turn of the century design and construction and so is not handicap accessible. All guest rooms are located on the second floor up a flight of stairs. All rooms have a private bathroom, television, seasonal air conditioning, and free wifi.
  • Nightly rates include lodging and breakfast for up to 2 guests per room. A third guest can be accommodated with a roll away bed at an additional $35 per night (this includes breakfast for the third guest) in three of our four rooms. The Lilac & Lace room cannot accommodate a roll away bed and is thus limited to 2 guests maximum. Children count towards the room occupancy totals (see Child Guest Policy section).
  • A breakfast menu is available in each room wherein guests may place their order selections for the next day. Regulations dictate that meals may only be served to guests staying at the establishment.
  • At this time, we are unable to accept pets, though we hope to in the future.
  • Making a reservation constitutes an acknowledgment and acceptance of these policies and terms in their entirety.
  • The card on file will be used to charge for any incidentals including, but not limited to, nonreturned or lost keys.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made within 7 days to 24 hours out from the reservation start date will be charged for a full day, unless the room is subsequently booked in that time.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the reservation start date will be charged the full rate of all their reserved days, unless any of those reserved days are subsequently booked, in which case they will not be charged to the canceling party.
  • A “no show” party or an early departure will be treated as a less than 24 hour notice cancellation unless other arrangements have been made with Haven Guest House.
  • Cancellations are only valid if confirmed by phone call or an email with a response from Haven Guest House. A voicemail or email without a call back or response does not constitute a valid cancellation.

Child Guest Policy

  • Our home is not generally suitable for small children and is not recommended for guests under 8 years old. However, we defer to the judgment of the parent or guardian as to the suitability of their child in an older house with antique fixtures and adornments, a steam radiator heating system, direct street adjacency, and an un-fenced water feature (koi pond).
  • Children are counted towards the room occupancy totals, and thus are subject to any associated fees, conditions, and limitations.
  • No special equipment or accommodations are available for children at Haven Guest House beyond the optional roll away bed described in the General Policy section. Any required accouterments must be provided by the Parent or Guardian.
  • Parents/Guardians will be responsible for the actions, and consequences therein, of their children. This includes, but is not limited to: financial responsibility for the repairs to the property that may result from the actions of their children, a responsibility to maintaining the tranquility and well-being of other guests, and a release of liability for Haven Guest House regarding the safety and well-being of any child guests beyond what is reasonably accepted for an adult guest. The safety of, and responsibility for the actions of, child guests are solely the purview of the Parent or Guardian. Guests with small children will be asked to sign an acknowledgment of these, and potentially other, conditions upon check in.

Rooms & Rates

  • Our rooms accommodate 2 guests, with the option of an additional roll-away bed for a 3rd (except in the Lilac & Lace room) at an added $35 per night plus tax.
